Our recent IKEA hack!

Our recent style project threw up a bit of a challenge. The entry way at Davenport Terrace was an awkward space. It was large enough that it needed to be decorated but without any decent size walls, it made our styling choices very limited.

The dividing wall between the entry and dining included an original feature of the property - a feature wall with retro glass panels. It's the first thing you see when you enter the property and it was something we wanted to highlight and definitely not hide.

Due to the fact that there were no painted walls, an artwork or mirror was out of the question so we could only use a hall table. Trying to find a hall table that fit the space turned out to be very difficult. All the hall tables we found were either too long for the space or were way too tall and covered too much of the glass panels.

It was time for an IKEA hack!

We added the Eket underframe ($20) to the bottom of the Kallax shelving unit in Gloss White ($79) and there you go! A custom hall table that fit the space beautifully and under $100! Add some baskets and a few bits & pieces and entry was complete.

Check out the finished product in the photo. We love how it turned out.
